Cinco de Mayo

Well, I guess you could say that Sonny is a ladies man!!! Michael, my brother and I took him out to eat for Cinco de Mayo and he was a hit. We sat out on the patio so we could be sure and have lots of room to play and you know to set up camp...haha! Women were coming over from all over the restaurant to say hi and talk to him...and a couple of ladies even asked to hold him while we ate our dinner. Maybe it was this cute little face and smile that they couldn't resist....or his festive shirt! We had a great night with lots of laughs...

Just a Swingin'

We have been doing lots of outdoor activities since the weather has been so nice (except for all the wind)...one of our favorite things is to go swingin' at the park. ViVi and I took Sonny to the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, if you haven't been...its a must, so beautiful and so much fun. These pic's are from his first time in the swing...we put him in and he started eating and chewing on it then he went right to sleep. Then we took a short break and tried it again and he loved it!!! So I ordered one for the backyard, we are just waiting on it to come in and for Daddy to hang it up...yay swingin'...

All this talk about swingin' reminds me of something...

A song my brother used to sing all the time when we were little...here's to you Uncle Kole...

There's a little girl, in our neighborhood.
Her name is Charlotte Johnson, and she's really lookin' good.
I had to go and see her, so I called her on the phone.
I walked over to her house, and this was goin' on.

Her brother was on the sofa, eatin' chocolate pie.
Momma was in the kitchen, cuttin' chicken up to fry.
Daddy was in the backyard, rollin' up a garden hose.
I was on the porch with Charlotte, feelin' love down to my toes.
and we were swingin'
yes we were swingin'

Mother's Day 2010

We had a great week hanging out with ViVi for Mother's Day! Sonny surprised us with learning how to hold his own ba ba (bottle) . From what everyone says, this is a major milestone! Yay Sonny!!! He thinks its really funny and puts on a show for us. Daddy was so sweet, he made us breakfast and put together the new rockin' chair for the patio. Sonny is 6 months and we are busy getting prepared for all the new and exciting things in store for us this summer.

"He's a Godly Man"

Sonny was baptized at the Methodist Church and few weeks ago. He did great and has the most amazing God Parents, my brother Kole and his Aunt Nancy aka "Nanny". We are so proud of our little man and know he will grow up to be such a sweet boy.

"There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." Ephesians 4:4-6

"Feed Me Seymour"

Sonny is 5 months old and has started eating big boy food! We first started with some yummy rice cereal and have now moved on to eating veggies. So far he has loved the squash and sweet potatoes, but he's not really a fan of carrots and green beans. Although he will open his mouth for the green beans he makes a yucky face after he takes a bite. His most favorite thing is to make a big mess! Its been lots of fun making his food, I can't wait to see how much he loves fruit!

Arboretum

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon...we packed up and went to the Dallas Arboretum, wind and all...it turned out to be an incredible day. We laid out a blanket and relaxed in the shade, took some Easter pictures and strolled around and looked at all the pretty flowers. After looking at these, Sonny is pretty good at taking pic's he smiled for the camera! What a ham:) a perfect afternoon!

Sonny's on the move

The months have been flying by and Sonny is growing bigger every day...so much has happened I'm not sure where to begin. He's 5 months now, and weighs 18 lbs. He has started eating cereal and veggies. So far I have been making his food and his favorite is yellow squash. He makes a huge mess and is quite the comedian. He has 2 teeth, one is just coming in and its super funny when he smiles and laughs at me. He finally discovered all his toys but his absolute favorite thing to do is lay on the floor and roll around back and forth...and he looks up at you afterwards to make sure you were watching him. I guess he gets that from me. I thought this pic was cute of his hair. My mom (ViVi) fixes it like this after his bath. She says its how babies wore their hair in the "olden days"...I told her its really a modern day mow hawk.

A few weeks ago we had a party for him at the house with the family to celebrate his baptism. We started swim lessons and he loves the water, and cries when its time to get out, I guess that means he likes it. We are getting really excited for summer and have lots of fun things planned. Lots of love...from Sonny D!
